Local Makeup Artist witnesses The Gospel Firsthand
BALTIMORE, MD – October 9, 2005 – It is safe to say that Baltimore, MD-based makeup artist Janice Tunnell’s star is rising. Ms. Tunnell recently offered her assistance in beautifying the faces of Hollywood’s elite that are featured in the movie The Gospel, which premiered in movie theaters nationwide on Friday, October 7th.
According to the official website for the movie, www.gospelmovie.com, The Gospel focuses on a young singer who turns his back on God and his father’s church when tragedy strikes, only to return years later to find the once powerful congregation in disarray due to his childhood nemesis’ leadership of the church. Boris Kodjoe, from the television series Soul Food, portrays the young singer. Other members of the cast include Idris Elba from the HBO series The Wire, and Keisha Knight Pulliam, who is best known as portraying “Rudy” in The Cosby Show. The Gospel also features performances from some heavyweights within the gospel music industry such as Yolanda Adams, Donnie McClurkin and Hezekiah Walker.
Ms. Tunnell is no newcomer to the field of makeup artistry, especially when it involves providing services to celebrities. During her 8 years of experience, Ms. Tunnell has provided her makeup artistry services to well-known members of varied industries ranging from the field of entertainment to the healthcare spectrum. Her lengthy list of clients includes vocal performers, such as Destiny’s Child, to politicians, such as Kwesi Mfume.
